Information about author: Alice Sebold is born in September 6, 1963. She attended Syracuse University. She graduated with a Bachelor degree in writing. She went on to attend University of Houston and the University of California Irvine to complete her Masters degree, but didn’t complete it at either school.

Alice Sebold has written three books. Those books are Lucky, The lovely bones and The Almost Moon. She has received numerous praises for The Lovely Bones. It was made into a movie. She has some editing experience.

Plot Summary: Susie Salmon is a teenage girl living in a quiet area of Philadelphia. She is sexually abused and murdered by her neighbor. After she dies from Heaven she follows her family and loved ones. She becomes involved in their lives and seeks out the best for each of them.

Critical Evaluation: I like that the abuse scene was not too graphic. The novel has a sweet touch to it since she is looking down on her family members.

Reader’s annotation: The Lovely Bones may be your proof that ghosts do exist.
